As you may know, I’m a mum of two lovely little girls who light up my life. They are the reason why I left my day job and took the leap into opening an Etsy shop and being self employed. Many of the journals I make are a product of something I made for them or with them in mind. My “Letters to my Daughter” journals are an example of this. I started making these journals shortly after my first daughter was born. A friend of mine said that I should set up an email account and send emails to my daughter so that when she was older she could be given the password and read all the messages. I loved the idea but email seemed a bit impersonal, not tactile, and what about if the account password was lost or hacked? I wanted my daughter to see my voice in my handwriting and be able to keep and cherish a memento of my love for her forever so I turned the emails into a leather journal. I’ve since expanded this to larger journals because…. well I write a lot! And I have also decorated their names onto the spines of the journals. Here’s a link to the journals in my Etsy Shop:
